2020 Kia XCeed Debuts As Stylish Compact Crossover For Europe Kia’s Ceed range for the compact model’s third generation is significantly different compared to its predecessors taking into account.

After introducing the Ceed hatchback, estate, and the gorgeous ProCeed shooting brake earlier this year, Kia is now putting the finishing touches on the fourth member of its compact car family. To the surprise of no one, yet another crossover is about to make its way into Kia’s lineup to satisfy the insatiable hunger people have for high.

September 2019 – The Kia XCeed is a new urban crossover utility vehicle (CUV) from Kia Motors which combines compact SUV practicality with the sporty packaging and engaging handling of a hatchback.
A sporty alternative to traditional SUVs, the new CUV nevertheless offers comparable levels of space for occupants and luggage. The Kia XCeed engages drivers with its sporty handling and a comfortable, assured ride, while providing a more commanding view of the road ahead than a conventional hatchback.
The XCeed’s suite of advanced safety, connectivity and infotainment features make it one of the most high-tech cars in the CUV class. Powered by a range of fast-revving, turbocharged engines, it is also one of the most efficient.
Emilio Herrera, Chief Operating Officer for Kia Motors Europe, comments: “The Kia XCeed addresses the growing desire for cars which offer more emotion and dynamism than an SUV, both in terms of the way a car looks and drives. Yet these customers don’t want to lose the practicality that a larger car offers them. Our new CUV meets these needs, with a distinctive and modern design wrapped around a spacious, versatile body. Merging the strengths of both hatchback and SUV, the Kia XCeed offers something refreshing and different for European consumers.”

The C-segment is the second largest class in the European market, and, thanks to a broadening range of body types, is set to take on greater importance in the years ahead. The Kia XCeed urban crossover will be manufactured at the brand’s European production facility in Zilina, Slovakia alongside the Ceed five-door hatchback, Ceed Sportswagon, and ProCeed five-door shooting brake. Due on-sale across Europe in the third quarter of 2019, the newest member of the Ceed model family will be sold as standard with Kia’s industry-leading 7-Year, 150,000-kilometre warranty.

The exterior of the Kia Ceed has been nicely upgraded and still features the distinctive 'Tiger Nose' grille and 'ice cube' LED daytime running lights. There's a wide range of distinctive colours to choose from during configuration, meaning your car stands out from the crowd.

The 5-door hatchback model also now boasts a larger 395-litre boot - larger than some crossovers and SUVs - alongside plenty more room for passengers, including more headroom in the front row and a lower driving position.

The Ceed Sportswagon has a fantastic amount of space for both passengers and luggage. With 625-litres of load space, which can extend to 1,694-litres when rear seats are folded, there's plenty of opportunity to store anything from five suitcases to a couple of golf bags.

Safety features in the Kia Ceed are probably the biggest addition, improving safety, comfort and convenience at the same time. Forward Collision Warning and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist provide pedestrian protection throughout every journey.

Smart Cruise Control is another available option in the Ceed. This system automatically modulates the vehicle's speed and maintains a proper distance from the vehicle in front. Lane Following Assist adds more safety comfort as it works in conjunction with Smart Cruise Control to ensure the vehicle is kept within the centre of the lane at all times.

Alongside that, the entertainment system has been updated by adding a super powerful JBL Premium sound system speakers with Clari-Fi music restoration and a wireless smartphone charger. Look forward to playing your own music through the highest quality system during every journey!

Kia Ceed is available with a choice of three petrol or two diesel engines. You're also given the option of a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The petrol engines range from between 120 and 204 bhp, with the most potent unit reserved for the sporty GT models. The entry-level engine returns a very welcome 52.3 mpg, while the mid-range 1.4-litre turbocharged model will give you 48.7 mpg. Expect high thirties from the most powerful variant.

If you spend a lot of time on the motorway, then the 1.6-litre diesel engines are your best bet. With over 74 mpg possible on a combined cycle and performance available from low down in the rev range, these units are solid performers.

The Ceed Sportswagon takes all of the fantastic traits from the Ceed hatchback and adds an extra layer of practicality. While the rest of the car remains unchanged, the boot space is increased by 36% to 625 litres. This is enough to carry pushchairs, the weekly shop and a few more bits besides, or you can chuck in a couple of bikes.

It's managed to retain or even enhance the good looks of the regular Ceed hatchback too. The rear of the car has been given a stylish sloping design that features a noticeably lower loading lip, so it's easy to throw things in the back.

Overall then, the Sportswagon takes an already fantastic family car and gives you more room in the back to work with. So if that's what you're looking for, the Ceed Sporstwagon will work perfectly for you.
